In 1826, Joseph Nicephore Niecpe first managed to fix an image that was captured with a camera. That exposure took about 11 hours. Fast forward 190+ years and the art of photography has become a ubiquitous everyday practice, used and consumed by millions around the world.

Desmond Burdon and Adrian Cook both utilize the medium of photography within their art practice. Desmond incorporates drawing, painting, photography and collage to create hauntingly beautiful large format digital images. Adrian prefers to spend hours in a darkroom crafting images on plates of glass or tin using traditional photographic techniques developed in the 1850’s.
